About this MOC
This LEGO Butterfree MOC is a 94-piece brick-built version of the Bug/Flying Pokémon, with a round purple body, big translucent red eyes and two broad wings. Each wing is made of black plates decorated with white curved tiles, and a pair of black antennae rises from the top of the head. A light blue muzzle with two small white fangs, tiny blue hands and rounded blue feet complete the character.
With the wings open the model is 15 x 9 studs and 8.3 cm tall, built from 38 different parts over 49 pages of free step-by-step instructions. The wings attach to the sides of the body with hinge pieces, and curved slopes give the body its rounded, egg-like shape. It is a manageable build for kids and beginners and makes a nice shelf piece with its wings spread.
LEGO has released official Pokémon sets in 2026, but this is a custom MOC by BrickProject, not an official LEGO set. Butterfree is #012 in the site's Gen 1 series, and Caterpie, the first stage of its evolution line, is also available to build.
